Farmers markets play a crucial role in providing fresh food to District residents. The District seeks to support farmers markets during the COVID-19 emergency, while also ensuring that customers are able to practice proper social distancing and minimize trips and time outside the home.

Eastern Market Farmers Market has been granted a waiver to operate on Tuesday, April 28; Tuesday, May 5; and Tuesday, May 12 from 12 pm to 4 pm at 225 7th St SE.
Saturday
Adams Morgan Farmers Market has been granted a waiver to operate on Saturday, May 2 and Saturday, May 9 from 8:30 am to 1 pm at 18th Street and Columbia Road NW.
Chevy Chase Farmers Market has been granted a waiver to operate on Saturday, May 2 and Saturday, May 9 from 9 am to 1 pm at Lafayette Elementary (5701 Broad Branch Road NW).
Cleveland Park Farmers Market has been granted a waiver to operate on Saturday, May 2 and Saturday, May 9 from 9 am to 1 pm at 3400 Connecticut Ave NW.
Eastern Market Farmers Market has been granted a waiver to operate on Saturday, May 2 and Saturday, May 9 from 9 am to 1 pm at 225 7th St SE.
Farmers Market SW has been granted a waiver to operate on Saturday, May 2 and Saturday, May 9 from 9 am to 1 pm at 425 M St SW

FRESHFARM Monroe Street Farmers Market has been granted a waiver to operate on Saturday, May 2 and Saturday, May 9 from 9 am to 1 pm at 716 The Arts Walk.
FRESHFARM Uptown Farmers Market has been granted a waiver to operate on Saturday, May 2 and Saturday, May 9 from 9 am to 1 pm at Colorado St and Kennedy St NW.
Maret School Farmers Market has been granted a waiver to operate on Saturday, May 2 and Saturday, May 9 from 8:30 am to 12 pm at 3000 Cathedral Ave NW.
UDC Van Ness Farmers Market has been granted a waiver to operate on Saturday, May 2 and Saturday, May 9 from 8 am to 2 pm at 4200 Connecticut Ave NW.
Sunday
Eastern Market Farmers Market has been granted a waiver to operate on Sunday, May 3 and Sunday, May 10 from 9 am to 1 pm at 225 7th St SE.
Palisades Farmers Market has been granted a waiver to operate on Sunday, May 3 and Sunday, May 10 from 9 am to 1 pm at 48th Place NW at MacArthur Boulevard NW.
**NOTE: Approved markets will be announced on a regular basis as waiver requests are processed.
Application
In accordance with Mayor’s Order 2020-058, the District Government will only allow farmers markets to operate if operators submit and get approved a COVID-19 waiver request to operate during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Markets must still apply for all regularly required permits to operate, including a DCRA vending license, and DPR or DDOT permits if operating on DPR property or public space.

Help us keep the farmers markets a safe place to access healthy food. We encourage all customers to:
- Stay home if they feel ill, have symptoms, or have been exposed to the virus.
- All customers are required to wear a non-medical cloth mask to the farmers markets.
- Keep proper distance from food displays and surfaces and follow social distance requirements.
- Order ahead to limit the time spent at the market.
- Explore home delivery from local farms and food hubs.
- Only send one family member from each household to the market.
- Leave children, seniors, and other vulnerable family members at home.
- Leave pets at home.
