Washington, DC – The District’s reported data for Wednesday, June 10, 2020 includes 52 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 9,589.

The District reported three additional COVID-19 related deaths.

  • 28-year-old male
  • 68-year-old male
  • 73-year-old male

Tragically, 502 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.

The District has experienced 10 days of sustained decrease in community spread of COVID-19 during Phase One. That data is represented in the chart below.

The District currently has 56 intensive care unit (ICU) beds available in hospitals out of 345 total ICU beds.

  •  289 total ICU inpatients
  •  82 COVID-19 positive ICU patients

Guidance has been published for healthcare providers, employers and the public to provide information on what to do if you have been diagnosed with or are a contact of someone who has COVID-19.

Residents should take the following actions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. An alcohol-based hand sanitizer can be used if soap and water are not available
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
